Cobden is a small community in the Township of Whitewater Region. Centrally located halfway
between the cities of Renfrew and Pembroke along the Hwy17 corridor [TransCanada Highway] and
situated on the south side of Muskrat Lake.
This quaint, friendly little town offers restaurants, shopping, and various small
businesses including a pull from the agricultural industry. It is also home to a wonderful
family park and Logo’s Land Resort & Waterpark.
Cobden is famous for the place where (in 1857) a boy digging recovered the astrolabe
lost by Samuel de Champlain on June 6, 1613. Once every decade, the astrolabe is
returned to the town by the Museum of Civilization, for the Homecoming celebration.
